I went to my doctors appointment on the morning of October 3rd in Tampa, assuming I'd probably have at least one more week of pregnancy. However, because my fluid was low they decided they needed to induce me. Not the next day, not that night, but right then... I couldn't even go home to get my bag and kiss my babies. Adam rushed to meet me at the hospital where we proceeded to wait until about 5 o'clock that evening to even be put in a room. And of course I wasn't allowed to eat, so we were feeling really happy. I was really apprehensive. I was induced with Hogan and it was a terrible experience. I had been planning on having a completely natural delivery like I did with Maryann, and now that wasn't going to happen. Luckily, the nurses in Labor and Delivery were wonderful and so comforting. I finally got all hooked up to the hundreds of IV's that go along with induction and they started a really slow pitocin drip at 6 o'clock. Not too long after that, the doctor broke my water and I got an epidural. That was a potent epidural. I felt absolutely nothing for the rest of my labor and delivery. Nothing. Around 8:50 the nurse decided to check me, then told us the baby was here. She paged the doctor and said it usually takes 5 minutes for her to get there. We ended up having a weird, discombobulated doctor from the hallway deliver our baby... oh well. She came fast. Adam and I couldn't believe how tiny she looked. And perfect. Another beautiful little angel. God is so good.
Caroline Mallory was born at 8:58 on October 3rd, weighing 6 lb 4 oz and was 20 inches long. It was, of course, love at first sight. Actually, we loved this baby long before we laid eyes on her.
The next day the VERY proud and excited big brother and big sisters came to meet their baby.
MK's shirt said, "I am a big sister, too!!". She wanted to hold Caroline so badly but she had a terrible cold so we couldn't let her. She kept saying, "Me hold it!".
