Salt and Sunshine

We spent a long weekend at the beach, soaking up the sun, the sand and the salt water.  I wasn't sure how MK was going to feel about the beach because she hates having anything on her hands and feet.  At first she refused to step off of the blanket....

...but after seeing how much fun H and L were having she dove right in and never looked back.

We built tons of sand castles, watched the kids chase sea gulls, and swam, swam, swam.  Adam got an inflatable boat for the kids and they had a blast with it.  MK never wanted to get out, except for the times she decided to spontaneously jump out into the waves.  She loves the water and thinks she can swim.  H and L are like little fish.  I loved watching them run and play on the beach.

One afternoon, MK was so tired after spending the morning at the beach that she passed out while in the process of getting out of her chair.

Adam and I are so incredibly blessed.

Princesses and a Castle

Our two little princesses and their (brother's) castle...

Where Does She Get This Stuff?

I found this little cutie trying to pick the bathroom lock with a bobby pin.  I have no idea where she learned to do this OR how she knew where to find bobby pins.  She is too funny!

Maryann has the biggest personality.  She is so much fun and absolutely hilarious.  She notices EVERYTHING and catches on to things really fast.  Her vocabulary amazes me, especially considering she is only 18 months old.  She even puts words together, like "Daddy sleeps".  If she can't find her baby doll she asks, "Where's baby?" and if I am on the phone she asks, "Who's that?".  She loves swimming.... LOVES, LOVES, LOVES it!  She never wants to get out.  She can hold herself up and kick herself all around the pool in an inter-tube.  While she was doing that the other day she said, "Look at me!", as clear as day.  She blows her nose, crumples up the kleenex, and says, "Gross!".  She loves being read to and says, "Book" while she brings us a book to read.  She even says words like alligator, pronounced more like "alla".  She knows most of her farm animal sounds.  She loves hair bows (hooray!) and brings me bows to put in her hair and says, "bow".  She loves babies and always wants to look at pictures of them on the computer.  She looks in the mirror, points to herself, and says "baby", sometimes kissing her reflection in the process.  She plays with her baby dolls all the time and holds them and makes them say, "Mama!  Mama! Mama!".  Lauralee watches Maryann while I do some of the school work with Hogan that requires more focus.  She loves to play with Lauralee and they are so cute together.  They dance to music, play Mama's and babies, read books, and play the cutest little games.  At the end of a prayer she says, "A-A" (amen).  She says over 100 words, and she says them all in such a cute way.  In case you can't tell, I am pretty crazy about this little girl.
