We went to Marinda and Isaiah's church for Christmas Eve service and then headed home to celebrate with a birthday cake for Jesus.
We opened Christmas Eve presents, sprinkled reindeer food outside, left out cookies for Santa, and hit the sack.
Hogan has been working hard on his photobombing skills.
...and Santa came!
The kids woke up bright and early and SO excited.
But we had to wait and wait for this little sleeping beauty to wake from her slumber.
She finally awoke, with a little bit of assistance. And here they go!
A few days before Christmas I wrapped up a Bible verse in a big box and sent the kids out to collect twigs, leaves, and flowers. I drew a manger on one side of the box, we glued on leaves and talked about the hope Jesus brought us in the manger. But Jesus didn't come to be a baby. He didn't come for Christmas. He came to grow up, to live his life, and then die. The hope we have is not in the manger. Our hope is in the cross.
I drew a cross on the other side of the box and we glued the twigs and flowers on.
Jesus's birth was so he could die. But his death washed away our sins. And his resurrection brings us new hope- life eternal with Him.
This was the first gift we unwrapped on Christmas morning and Daddy read us the verse inside.
For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but wasrevealed in these last times for your sake. Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.

Then we let the kids exchange gifts with each other. This was so unbelievably sweet. I told them before Christmas that they were in charge of making gifts for each other and then I left it at that. They worked hard and made each other the sweetest gifts. These kids are amazing.
We had a delicious Christmas morning breakfast. And a fun morning unwrapping presents with Noni, Poppy, Nana, and Grandpa.
We spent the afternoon at MayMay and PopPop's.
We spent the rest of the day playing games. It was such a perfect, love filled Christmas.
