Celebrating the Sabbath

For school this year we are learning about and celebrating all the Old Testament feasts and holidays.  We started with doing a traditional Sabbath celebration.  It was so much fun and a wonderful, God filled experience.

Co-Op

We are having lots of fun in Co-op this semester.  Hogan volunteers to do all the read alouds in his class and he and Lauralee have such a great time with their friends.  Maryann and Caroline are loving it as well.

School's Out for Summer!!!

We finished My Father's World First Grade Curriculum and celebrated by having a parade over to MayMay and PopPop's (while waving our flags), swimming, and eating AMAZINGLY delicious ice cream sundaes.

The kids each designed their own flags.  Lauralee's has a picture of Jesus on the Cross and a picture of her and Jesus together.  Hogan's has symbolic colors... red for the blood Jesus shed for us, black for our sins, white to represent the cleansing of our sins through Jesus Christ, and yellow because Jesus is the light of the world.  He put a fish because it is a Christian symbol.  They made these flags completely on their own with out any help or ideas from me.  Maryann's flag has a picture of Jesus on the cross.

Super Reader!

I can't say enough times how proud I am of Hogan and his love of reading.  He is amazing!  He is six years old and devouring chapter books.  He loves, loves, loves to read and I am loving it.  He is so smart and hard working.  If you are ever wondering where Hogan is and what he is doing, this is probably how you will find him...

And I know two little girls who are following in his footsteps...

School Days

We are loving Home Schooling.  Hogan is working on First Grade and Lauralee is getting ready to start Kindergarten.  Maryann is a part of everything!  I just want to remember how sweet and innocent they all are and how blessed we are to have this opportunity.

Metamorphosis

We got a butterfly habitat and witnessed the wonder of God's creation from caterpillar to butterfly with our own eyes.  Four caterpillars to be exact.  It is crazy how fast those little guys grow. We started out with four tiny caterpillars and released four beautiful painted lady butterflies.

First Day of School

There they are, ready for their first day at the homeschool co-op.  Oh my goodness, they are too cute and growing up so fast.  Hogan is in the Kindergarten class and Lauralee is in the K-4 class.  They did so good and had so much fun.

Maryann went to.  She also had a blast.  She is such a funny little girl and so easy going.  She just plays and dances and makes everyone smile.
