Maryann did it!!!

Maryann camped out ALL NIGHT with Daddy, H, and L!!!  She's growing up.  She is also head over heels in love with her Daddy so that helps :-)

Outdoor Adventures

Here's my crew, ready to do some camping.  They have been doing lots of backyard camping.  This camping adventure was short lived for MK.  Once it got dark she was done.  She is very scared of the dark and raccoons right now.  But Hogan, Lauralee, and Daddy had a grand time sleeping under the stars.

Adam was able to take all three kids camping on Hog Island recently.  They had so much fun fishing, playing, roasting marshmellows, and exploring.  Maryann wasn't even afraid when it got dark.  But when it was time to head into the tent for the night she changed her mind and came home to camp out in my room with me and Caroline.

Best Daddy Goes to...

My kids seriously have the BEST Daddy in the world.  I'm not just saying that, I really mean it, and it is actually true.  He leaves every morning before the sun is up, usually before it has even thought about coming up.  He works so hard all day, on his feet, treating patients, performing surgery.  He spends two hours in the car driving to and from work.  Most men would come home, wiped out, eat some dinner and turn on the TV.  Not Adam.  Yes, he is wiped out (if he sits down too long he is out like a light).  Adam takes the kids outside to ride bikes, to play soccer, to swim.  Over the past year he has taught both H and L to ride their bikes with out training wheels and to swim like champions.  He plays games with them, builds lego worlds, reads them books, wrestles with them.  Even on hot Friday nights he takes them camping in the backyard, opting to sleep on the hard ground rather than a soft bed, after a long week of work.  How'd we get so lucky??

Backyard Camping

Adam and the "big kids" have been enjoying some backyard camping lately.  Tents, sleeping bags, hotdogs, marshmellows, sparklers, and beautiful weather.  MK enjoys it too and wishes she could sleep in the tent, but that would be no fun for anyone!  Next year, MK...next year :)
