Hogan Turns EIGHT!

A few days before Hogan's birthday we took him to Chili's for a birthday dinner and had the staff surprise him by coming out clapping and singing "Happy Birthday" to him.  It was awesome.  He was so embarrassed and hid is face in the booth but he really loved it.  Caroline was clapping and singing along.  Priceless.

The night before our baby turned 8 we celebrated with cake and presents at MayMay and PopPop's house.

Hogan gets so embarassed when everyone sings to him :)

Then Adam and I worked hard to get everything set up for the big day the next morning.

Here he is, asleep as a 7 year old and ready to wake up as an 8 year old.

For breakfast Hogan requested chocolate milk, cinnamon rolls, and bacon.

For lunch he had garlic bread and meat, cheese, and cracker platters.

And for dinner.... Buffalo Chicken Pizza and Hawaiian Rolls!

We had made a piƱata when we were studying Mexico and broke it open for Hogan's birthday.

Dear Hogan,

You have grown up so much this year.  You made the decision to accept Christ as your Savior and nothing in the world could make me happier.  You really took this decision seriously.  You thought long and hard about it... You wanted to make sure that you were really saved and weren't sure how to know.  You went and talked to Pastor Matt at church and a few days later you made it official.  Not too long after that you spoke with an elder at church and took your first Communion.  You are a Mission Minded Kids Junior Mentor and have been memorizing your catechism verses like a pro.  You impress me every day with your dedication and hard work.  You love reading your Bible and you love Jesus. Daddy and I are truly so proud of you and the amazing little man you are becoming.

You are fun.  You are smart.  You are kind.  You make me laugh.  I am so lucky that God chose me to be your mama.

I love you to infinity and back.

Love Mama
