When I first told Hogan that he was going to play soccer this year, about a month or so before the season was going to start, he was horrified and told me, "no way, not going to happen", and almost cried when he thought about it. But we kept talking about it every once in awhile and praying about it and come soccer season he was happy and actually excited to play. I think I was more nervous than he was at his first game. His league doesn't have practices, just instructional play during the games. We took him to his first game and he didn't flinch once. Even though we had only played with him a couple times he went out there and had a blast. He is by far the youngest kid on his team and he is so cute out there. Every once in awhile he gets distracted by dragonflies or clouds and forgets to watch the ball... priceless. He is number five, which he thinks is perfect since he is five years old.
He won the medal for most valuable player at the end of one game. He was SO proud. He came walking over to us after the game wearing his medal and trying really hard not to smile. He wore the medal all day and even tried to sleep in it. Oh my goodness, I love that boy!
