Pumpkin Time

Time to carve pumpkins again!

The kids weren't so into it last year but this year they were pretty excited.  They went and picked out pumpkins with their Daddy.  Then each of them decided what they wanted to carve on their pumpkin.  Hogan wanted the Batman symbol and Lauralee wanted a flower and a leaf.  I drew their requests onto the pumpkins and we waited excitedly while Adam carved the tops off the pumpkin so we could clean those things out!

Finally, the tops were off and the it was the kids turn to do some work.  Lauralee was a little grossed out but she still gave it a go and went to town on those pumpkin guts.

Hogan was actually surprisingly optimistic before sticking his hand into the pumpkin, but it was pretty much over before it started.  I can't blame him though because there was no way I was going to do that with my hands either.

Adam and I ended up being left to clean out the pumpkins ourselves (using spoons).  Then Adam worked hard carving the pumpkins while the kids played and later claimed proud ownership of "their handiwork" :)  They are lucky to have a Daddy who loves them so much!
